Crew Collections

These are special types of collections that require your Mafia’s help in order to finish. Mission specific items have a rare chance to drop on any job, while others will have to be found by your Mafia through job assistance. Here are some more things to know:

Asking for help -
1. You can only put out 1 request for 1 collection every 48 hours.
2. Up to 5 Mafia Members can help you on a single request only.
3. Once a Mafia member decides to help you, they must have the item drop from a random job. They only have limited time to do so.

Helping your Mafia -
1. You cannot help more than 1 friend at one time.
2. On successfully helping, both you and the friend get the item.
3. You can only help up to 5 friends in a 24 hour period.

Misc -
1. There is no re-vaulting of these collections.
2. You can ask for help once an item drops or straight from the collections page.
3. New crew collections will be added in the future.

When your Mafia Wars Account Gets Screwed up:
When Zygma screws up your account here is the 800 number for those in the USA. 800762 2530. And yes they screw up karin’s stuff too. You can always contact them by going to the upper left side of Mafia Wars and clicking on support. You eventually have to go through a sign in thing but you can send them a message that way as well.

The Lotto Trade
The news out there is that there are a lot of scammers that have gotten the title of Trusted Trader. You can no longer trust the TT list. This means that you are at risk of losing your Lottos or weapons with a Trusted Trader. I’m not a Trusted Trader. But as many know, my reputation means everything to me and I work very hard to honor my commitments. I’m an officer on 15 major clans, and an officer on two trading sites. I run my own Combat Arena and Host Mock Wars. I’m not going anywhere. I approach a trade from the angle of what will boost the receivers attack or defense the most. And then trade it in the middle range. I then can market the lotto off to another trader who I’ve traded with before for a few more items and leave something in it for them. I will probably never be your highest trade but I will be one that will boost your weapons and you won’t be worried about getting your weapons. And with the Trusted Traders having a bunch of scammers in their ranks your highest trade may lose you your lotto or weapons. Moscow Rates are increasing, the current trading range for a full set is now in the 450 blade range, up from 130 blades only a couple months ago. Cuban is strange. There are fewer traders handling it. In some areas I have traders throwing large amounts of some items at me and there are shortages of other items out there. I’m increasing my normal trades for lottos to 250 cuban. Shoes are more and quoted at the time of trade. I always like to look at your weapons before we trade. If I see an opportunity where I can offer you more pieces for your lotto by giving you say TNT and GS over Track loaders and Gaff hooks I offer it. I’m trading 60 coats for lottos as well. This may go up.

GodFather Points, and how to use them:
If you do, just add attack and def points. They will give you the best boost for your money. Don’t waste your money on MW weapons that the Godfathers offer. They are all overpriced turkeys for what they offer in return vs. the boost that attack and def points do. To prove the point, say you get a weapon that is a 50 50—and I’ve not seen any of those being sold. You have one weapon. If you’re running TNT and gaff your only increasing one weapon by 8 points(tnt is 42 attack) and 15 increase over gaff for defense. You spend 10 gf points with those stupid treasure chests. If you wait till you get 14 gf points you get 4 skill points. If you put all 4 of those into attack and defense you get a miminum of 501 attacking points for each one you use or 1002 attack and 1002 defense.

Ok, I’ve gotten a lot of request again about any reliable sources to purchase weapons. I don’t purchase weapons, and Zygma does not like you purchasing them. Does not mean it does not happen. Here are a few sources that Either myself or friends have dealt with that have been reliable. If you deal with them do mention that Karin sent you. No, I don’t get kick backs. But a couple have told me that they sometimes try to do a bit extra for my friends. The weapons that give you the largest boost over Cuban, Viks – armor, and Zolotos –vehicle for attack, Blades – weapon, and Coats – Armor, for Defense. Tips for 1st week of Feb 2010
I’m often asked why I do the tips
I started my tips to help pass on fighting tips and how to play the game better during a long war with multiple Indonesians Clans that our clan and several allies were in. I had a lot of friends take time and explain things to me to help me play better. I’ve had many send me gifts that even I cannot believe in both quantity and value. My tips are my way of saying thanks.

Playing Mafia Wars is a lot like a real war. You have a balance of resources and a arms race that is going on constantly. Like real life, there is just about everything that you can believe in this game. One of my best pieces of advise I can give you is get into a clan. Search around a bit. Some clans you will agree with others you will not. Sometimes you don’t even know why. But it’s a good chance to meet some people who will share you’re interests and will make the game a lot more fun for you to play.

My next piece of advice is remember it’s a game. Remember we call it Mafia Wars. Sometimes we have to accept the Fed’s(ok so it’s Zygma with their 12 year old on twinkies and boost with his laptop—that’s what I imagine as their tech team) shows up and ruins the party. Sometimes the glitches break against us, sometimes for us. Don’t get mad when they break against you. Sometimes it leads to something great happening for you later. So when it breaks against you go do something else for a bit. Come back and let someone know what happened. Take a Moment and send our 12 year old eating twinkies and drinking boost a message. It may not fix it but it may lead you to someone who does something great for you. And Yes, I’ve had it break against me as well.

Making Sure Everyone Can Respond and Help You
Ok, A number of weeks ago I told you to keep adding people. I wanted you to get to at least 2500. Facebook did a cute thing a few months back and reduced the number of people who can see you’re posting. A big part of my strength is that all my friends can see and responds. If they can’t see they can’t help. So go to Facebook main page. Click on live feed. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Right lower side is a link, EDIT OPTIONS. Click on it. ). Change the number of friends from 250 to 5000. This will let everyone see you. It makes a difference.

Facebook is changing their look. One of my two accounts has been totally changed. Just an FYI. Will try to send out updates next week to help adjust settings.

Properties are changing, 2 to 3 weeks ago I did a special area on how to maximize selling off your properties. Now is the time to do it and go after the Trillion Dollar bonus. Right now if you are attacked and in properties your properties get damaged, defense boost not being applied.

I would start banking Bangkok. Right now you can attack people in Bangkok, but if you win you collect in NYC Dollars. I’m sure they will fix this at some point.

Next to protect you’re self from Hackers:

Adjust your profile settings. Remove your birthday, or at least the year. Also remove your E mail. These are items that hackers use to try to hack your account.

THE LOTTO TRADE:
Current Cuban Rates, for trading in a lotto 225 top Cuban weapons. To trade a Lotto from me takes 275 Cuban. I work of the spread. If it’s the Shoe it’s more on both sides quoted at the time. I trade in Moscow. I stock the following weapons, KCC, Blades, Coats, Viks, Zolotos. Moscow weapons trade around 40 to 50 pieces per lotto depending on the day, the lotto and the Moscow weapon. I quote Moscow before I trade it. It changes that much. I have a special on two Cuban Items right now, 275 GS and 275 TNT per lotto, the shoe I do pay more. I’m also running a special on Coats, 54 for all lottos.

A Trouble Maker
As everyone knows I generally don’t ask people to beat up on someone in a mass method like this. There is a gentleman who has harassed multiple players and clans, has had complaints filed against him, was even suspended for a week for his play. He blocks all communications. His new game is to steel tags of clans and then attack people to start a war. He is kinda bad news. Do me a favor, if you’re a strong player attack him and kill him off a couple times this next week. Maybe he will get the message that there are other ways to play the game. He has currently stolen the tag of EBMW. He is not a member of that clan.
