Tips for the second week of June.
Remembrance— The famous battle of Bunker Hill, June 17, 1775—which took place mostly on Breed’s hill. Guess they had problems teaching Geography back in those days too(lol). Even our current president believes that the United States has 57 states—still waiting for the reporter with the guts to ask him the names of the extra seven states. The battle of the Rosebud, Montana, June 17, 1876. The Lakota Sioux stopped General Crooks advance towards the Little Big Horn where he was to meet up with Custer. Custer always bragged that he could ride through the Sioux nation with 270 Calvary. Like Grattan, and Fetterman before, he underestimated his opponents. June has three key events for WWII. The National Wills of Germany vs. Russia over the battle of Stalingrad was set in motion with the Germans Advance on Stalingrad. In the Pacific the United States planned the landing at Guadalcanal. The failure of Germany to seize the moment during Dunkirk had their high command decided to mount the first sustained Strategic Bombing campaign to eliminate the RAF—which would lead to what is now called the Battle of Brittan. I’ve chatted with a person who mentioned that when he was 10 he met a English woman who was a secretary at one of the RAF command centers. She mentioned that most do not have a clue on how close the RAF came to completely disappearing. The German Airforce had so successfully damaged their airfields, production plants and planes that the RAF was only putting 7 to 12 fighters a day in the air to oppose the German AirForce. A twist of fate occurred when the RAF put a desperation bombing raid against Berlin together which accidentally dropped bombs on Civilian instead of Industrial and Military Targets. It so enraged Hitler that he changed his Airforce from attacking Strategic Targets to the Blitz of London. My sources felt that the RAF was within a week to 10 days of completely disappearing.

Trading—Trading is basically dead at the moment. While I was having fun riding roller coasters last weekend some were using some script and gifting to counterfeit lottos. This has caused Zygna to introduce blocks to stop gifters. I’m told they will be changing the lottos and setting back those who did it. Right now, most traders are just leaving comments on protest sites and logging off. It’s too difficult to trade with the gift all button sometimes gone or disabled and the gifting tools not working. Values are way down. I am personally looking for 2 diamonds, Idol and Hope. Will pay 4 Hunters, Rails or Mugatis for them. They are for my own vaulting. Also counterfeit lottos will be deleted and all lottos will get a new look according to zygna.

To make yourself stronger. Work on London. If you’ve not finished NY –finish it. You’re energy doubles. Then skip Cuba(you can do one job a day there and get your friends help). Skip Moscow. You can do the daily Get Help job there. Work on Bangkok. If you have enough baht for the faction weapons you can focus on the job that drops the T. Katars. If you don’t have the baht you should focus on the Armor such as the Ninjas and T. Katars, Once you hit that job, just keep doing it over and over. Once you have looted 500 T Katars and their top armor then you can do the rest of the jobs and go back and get Cuba and Moscow. But focus on the jobs that give you the best weapons to fight. Here are the drop weapons in Bangkok most should be aware of and working on: 100 Titanium Katar (50 defense), 100 Royal Thai Marine (49 defense), 100 Raed Armored Sedan (47 defense), 100 Nak Kha Shotguns (47 attack), 100 Ninja (47 attack), 100 Lamang Motorcycle (49 attack).
Animals: Yes they finally took them out of Armor and gave them their own area. You can purchase animals in NY, Cuba, Moscow, and Bangkok. Bangkok is the strongest. Remember you need 501 max. More does not help add to your attack. Play with the mix that gives you the best.

A follow-up on Combat Calculators. It was pointed out to me, and is true that most of the Combat Calculators actually save and record your abilities for one clan or another when you use them. Again, I recommend that you skip them if you’re a very strong player. Their models and assumptions tend to break down when you’re well above average.

More about my Visit to San Francisco
We visited a number of coffee houses. I’ve never seen a city with more desperately lonely people. Not sure if it has to do with the ambiance and draw of San Francisco—it’s the last place west that you can head too—“Go West so to speak”(most of us can’t walk on water and cross the Pacific). We visited my friend’s co-ed dorm at SFSU. While there I was recognized by some guy as we walked down the hallway to her dorm room. Now my friends are beginning to wonder how people recognize me 2,000 miles from home. Again had to do an autograph and let him show me his mafia war stuff, look over his weapons and give some personal advise. Of course, I logged onto his computer for a few minutes and let him have a look at my stuff. And it worked out where my friend got a date with the guy who I admit was pretty good cute.

The Story Continues
We finished eating our squirrels and my uncle said that should take the edge off our hunger and then asked me if I would help him with preparing the evening meal. We were having company over and aunt Betty was out getting her hair done. My uncle liked to cook every couple weeks and give her a break. I said sure. With everyone was about 30 people. We went into the main house and first he had to set the mood. He put on Sinatra. Said he like the elegance that the music of the Rat Pack set(I find even today that if you want an elegant feeling it’s hard to beat Dean and Sinatra). I helped clean and slice the vegetables I’d pulled earlier that day, put the leaves into the long table and watched and chatted with my uncle as he downed his chef’s hat and fried the fish and cooked the steaks. He cooked and seasoned the vegetables. I put on the rice in the rice cooker and then went and spiffed myself up a little to play hostess as our guests and farm hands came in. My aunt arrived and was pleased, but not surprised that everything was running smoothly. It was quit a feast. I discovered the purpose of the of the gathering was to prepare the farm for being like a secure motel for a number of horses that people were bringing in for the founders parade and or the county faire. While most of the time the farm was pretty low security it changed due to the value of some of the horses that would be staying with us. The gate to the trailer hook ups which included the barns and pastures for the visiting horses would be kept padlocked and guarded. Removable Spike guards would be placed as well to destroy tires of anyone trying to run the gates. The training with the guns and his killing zone training was now making sense on how if there was an alert everyone had safe positions to be responsible for and could provide support to others. My uncle had one policy on horse thieves—it’s ok to shoot to kill, and it’s ok to shoot first. The next morning we were to be issued new guns and the ammunition change from the normal first shot being bird shot to being lethal rounds. The Sheriff was there to back him up and told us about when the various patrols we’re scheduled to be in the area and that the ranch channel monitored so they could also provide support. We were all getting paid to be a gate guard, even me, very cool. The farm had never had a problem and part of it was my uncles reputation—he was known as someone you did not cross. Only my uncle would let horses in or out. He would Poloroid them coming and going and look at their lip tattoos. Never knew there was that much too it. Aunt Betty had also returned with a totally great Indian Princess Outfit for me to wear on the float on the parade—I had no clue she was so good with guessing sizes.

The next morning I was issued a MAK-90, better known as an AK47. The MAK-90 only fires 1 round at a time, the machine gun feature being disabled. We all went to the range after morning chores and did some practice. And yes, I worked in 10 minutes throwing my hatchet. My uncle liked the MAK 90—at the time was extremely cheap, extremely reliable, very low jamming rate, terrifying look of the weapon and it sounds different so if used we would all be able to hear that someone was in trouble and not mistake it for any hunting weapon. Was thinking my friends at camp were swimming, horseback riding, learning archery. Me, I was learning how to throw hatchets, fire guns, clean fish and squirrels, and I was going to get to be a Indian Princess on a parade float. This was going to be a pretty cool summer after all. And my Mom would probably faint if she knew I was being trained in weapons. Hoped she was having a good time in Hawaii.

Tips for the Third Week of June 2010
Remembrance: A follow up on the Battle Of Midway. One of the interesting aspects of the Battle Of Midway is that the Japanese were successful in eliminating the air power that they were so afraid of. Their first strike destroyed all the planes on Midway. By the end of the counterpunching of both sides the Japanese had lost all their carriers, The USA had lost one, another damaged. But there were virtually no effective combat air groups left among the Americans. They had only a hand full of planes. The USA had no naval group that could challenge let alone stop the Japanese Invasion force heading towards Midway. Carriers without planes and pilots are pretty useless against battleships and cruisers. If the Japanese had wanted to finish their goal of taking Midway there was very little to stop them. They sacrificed their primary carrier strike force and got nothing in return. If they had taken Midway it would have made It much tougher for the USA to respond. Something else that is not often appreciated is that the Big E, USS Enterprise, was severely damaged in many battles. Their crew and captain did not abandon the ship, which many other commanders did when their carriers took damage similar to the Enterprise. It had it’s flight deck knocked out more than once, all it’s elevators damaged, and it would not leave the fight. The Captain and Crew knew there was no one else to do the job and if they left the field it would mean the enemy would control the area. Their very presence gave the enemy pause. The USS Enterprise received 5 Presidential Awards for their tour of service in WWII. Unfortunately we honored the ship by scrapping it and turning it into razor blades—over the protest and efforts of many that tired to safe it as a Memorial. The same fate was bestowed on the Cruiser, USS San Francisco—the only other Ship to receive a Presidential Award in WWII. They were even more damaged than the Enterprise in one of the greatest Naval Battles on record and their crew refused to leave when they were facing a vastly superior force of Battle Ships and Cruisers and they had only a couple 50 caliber and 30 caliber guns left working—all their deck guns and Senior officers killed.

It’s called “likejacking,” and it’s one of the latest-and-greatest exploits hitting Facebook users. Here’s how it works: You see that your friend “likes” something, so you click on it. It takes you to a page that is blank except for the message “Click here to continue.” If you click anywhere on the page, your profile will be updated and suddenly you, too, will “like” this mysterious page (note that you, yourself, never clicked “like this”). Here’s the kicker – the mysterious page is also infected with a Trojan. Now your friends see that you “like” this page, and they may get hit, too. This can be avoided by never downloading an application unless you absolutely trust its origin. You will know you have this infection if your computer begin to behave strangely in whatever browser you have downloaded this so called “cute” application. Remember, no matter what you’re told, anything you have to download, stays on your hard drive, not on the Internet. So be careful what you download into it.

Becoming an Officer
This is my Anniversary week of becoming an officer in a MW clan. I answered a request that Watch Your Back group 3 put out, sent in my information and after about 5 days was appointed Board Manager. I had no clue what a Board Manager was…and found out later that it depends on the group you’re in. I instantly added 1500 new friends in a week. I had weird work hours at the time and often ended up chatting with people who would pop in. I was level 80 something at the time. I ended up chatting a lot with some very strong players. This was back when WYB was at it’s peak with a Death and Ghost Squad—special attack teams. I only lasted about a month as their Board Manager—they had another person who just needed some extra help for a while. WYB Group 3 no longer exists. I then found BEEF and MoW. Became Board Mgr at BEEF and a soldier officer at MoW.

I appreciate all the help that the WYB tagged members gave me during the 6 week long BEEF-INDO war. I was reinforced and sent weapons beyond what you can imagine. I’m probably still involved because I became an officer. In a comparison to life, if you think of playing mafia wars as well just being a speck of dust in the world, joining a clan as joining a club, or going to a school of your choice. Becoming an officer makes you a active participant, a key holder to a small private club. You don’t need to be the strongest player to be an officer. You don’t need to be the brightest. Any average person who has about an hour a week to help take care of some administration stuff such as answering a players question which can be as simple as let me get the answer for you and ask someone else—that is what an officer does most of the time. I guarantee that you will have more fun meeting and chatting with various people from all over the world if you become an officer. If you do decide to accept the challenge, please remember that the game is Mafia Wars, that your Godfather is always right, even when he’s screws up. It’s your job to back him up. So if you have a little time, contact your Godfather and ask him if there is something that you can do to help out. I’m sure he will appreciate the help.

Trading
If you want to trade me weapons for a 7-11 code contact me directly. I’m doing some job skills updating next to a 7-11. Looking at like 15 Nak Kha Shotgun, or Lamang Motorcycle or equalivant or 4 hunters, rails, mugati for each code. May consider a diamond for a code. Is only good for those in the USA or Canada.
Right now trading is functionally dead. Face book and Zygna have both introduced script blocks. If you’re stupid enough to still try to find one to go around them either one could just delete your account. So I advise you to just relax and not use any scripts, including combat analyzers. So you understand a little more what happened. As far as I can tell, a couple weekends ago some people figured out how to counterfeit lottos by using some gifting script. So that is why both the lotto trade is down and trading is down. It’s very difficult to send any large numbers of gifts. As of late yesterday the Arun Gifter came back on line. If this stays functional trading may be back to normal numbers in a week or so.

The Story Continues
I took the 6 to 10 PM shift guarding the gate and the 7 to 10 am shift. I could easily watch and take care of the gate while doing the morning chores, feeding the chickens and taking care of the vegetable garden. It’s was very strange carrying a holstered pistol and a loaded riffle around. Took a bit of getting use too. We had some range time right after lunch 4 days a week now. I was discovering I was a pretty good shot at the targets. We practiced against 100 yards. I realized later my uncle did it to point out that he backed up his word. My brother and cousins were lazy at wanting to clean their ak’s so I offered to do it for a dollar a gun. An easy extra 5 dollars every time. We started getting in horses a couple days later. My uncle showed me another throw he wanted me to get down. He said that I was getting good with my first throw and soon we would be working on aim. He took me to the store one afternoon and ask the owner if I could leave a folding table and chair in back and sell some of the vegetables from the farm there each day to raise a little spending cash. He said sure. My uncle had a real nice sign made up for me that I could tape to the table, was a very cool set up. I started the next day. About 2:30 I’d take my vegetable, and any extra eggs that aunt Betty had, put them in my backpack(and sometimes an extra bag), leave my guns in my room and walk to the back gate(that I now had a key too). I’d call my uncle on the walkie talkie and tell him I was leaving the ranch, and go get my table and set it up. I usually had some carrots, tomatoes, sometimes a few beats, a couple heads of lettuce(was still early for the corn). When I was done the guy who owned the store bought my excess. Was very sweet on me. Went from being broke to making 4 dollars an hour as a guard and picked up an extra 5 to 10 dollars selling vegetable. I felt like a wealthy 9 year old. It was now July 2.

Tips for the 4th week of June
Remembrance: The Battle for France lasted a whole 9 days before the German’s had them beaten. The combined British Expeditionary Force and the French Army were actually far stronger than the Germans on Paper. Their Generals and deployment totally failed their people. The French Government fled Paris and Headed to Bordeaux where I guess their contribution to the war effort was to toast their soldiers in the field. Of course one of the jokes I like best is why the French Army is not permitted inside Euro Disney. Seems the last time the French Army was there they surrendered to the Mouseketeers when all the lights of the Electric Light Parade were going off. I do understand that there are a bunch of extra used guns available for sale, only dropped once.

A tip to help lower level players in your clan. As you know I answer lots of questions for many people who contact me directly. One conversation gave me an idea. If you have lower level players, or players who have not done much in Bangkok yet, put out a general message to your clans. Find those people. Send them a couple hundred pirates and drug shipments. This will let them avoid building the pirate and drug businesses so they can save their precious baht for weapons that matter. Have them do just enough in each episode to get them up to saboteur and assassin episodes where the powerful drop weapons are located.

Trading. The gifters seem to be working again, but lotto values are still way down. I strongly advise you wait a couple weeks before trading any lottos. If you’re looking to finish the lotto collection it might be a good time to go to the lotto trust, and bid and get the remaining piece you need. It’s the week of July 4. My uncle actually takes me into town along with my brother and cousins, gives us $10.00 each to go shopping for the fireworks we want to use for the 4th of July. It’s real nice to have some spending money of my own. Ok, I probably over did it but it was something I was not allowed to do in Cleveland, well had a lot of fun.
Got a lot of Blackcat firecrackers. Stopped by the drive-in restaurant and saw the owner I had spoken with what seemed like an eternity before. Told him thanks for his time before…he had not known it, and I had not known it at the time, but his taking time to make me feel special that first time had meant a lot to me. I got a Chocolate Malt and Cheese Burger with Fries and told him I wanted to pay full price for it this time. I also told him I spoke with my Uncle who said I could help out in the morning of the Faire later in the month for the ride ticket. He told me he would call the ranch and give me the detail a couple days before. And yes, it was one of the best Cheeseburgers I’ve ever had.
On the third of July my uncle had us killed a cow and had to bleed it, and carve it up(will not go into details but I do have a new respect for butchers.) Was a lot of work. He wanted to donate the meat for the 4th of July BBQ that started when the parade was done.

They started the morning with the 4th of July parade. My Aunt Betty drove me into town to the staging area. I had a super cool outfit. I had a simple leather like pull over top, with a leather skirt, leather moccasins with blue and red beads glued on, I had like a shoulder sling where the squirrel pelts that my uncle had caught were attached and hanging down along with a special holder for my throwing hatchet. I asked my uncle if instead of using the new hatchet he gave me if I could use his old wooden one for the parade. He told me to go ahead and get it and have fun. My brother and cousins were not interested in the parade so they stayed and took care of the farm giving the couple hired hands time to attend. I admit, it was a small town parade, a couple school marching bands, 12 floats on trailers pulled by pick up trucks, a local army color guard, a bunch of people riding horses, a few convertibles. I was introduced to the person who was in charge of the frontier float and they told me where and what they wanted me to do on the float. I became a magnet. Not sure if it was because I was the only new outsider there, or my uncles niece. I finally got to meet some kids my own age, which was very nice. I got a ton of compliments on my outfit. My only contact with kids my age had been with letters to my friends who went to camp. After the parade I went over to the BBQ area and helped with the cooking and serving. Was work but a lot of fun. We left around 1PM. My uncle had to get back to check the special horses back into the secure area from the waiting area. My Brother and cousins hooked up a skid to one of the tractors and my older cousin dragged the rest of us on the skid to the other side of the farm behind a small hill away from the animals. Realized later that animals hear the firecrackers from miles away and even shooting them off on the far side of the farm is hard on animals. But you could hear them going off all around us so it really did not matter. I de-stringed the firecrackers so I could throw them one at a time. Yes my mom would have chewed me out if she had seen me lighting the fuses in my hand with a punk and throwing them. Did find the firecrackers a bit hard on my ears after awhile. Found them a lot of fun using them on an ant hill. My uncle and a hired hand stayed and watched the farm in the evening and aunt Betty drove the rest of us in the pick up to the faire grounds to watch the fireworks in the evening. After that we went back to the farm and shot off our bottle rockets over the large lake near the main house. We made jokes that we had to defend ourselves from the mesquitos. The main house was just far enough away from the lake that you did not have many get up there. But down by it was like being attacked by squadrons, lol. The next morning I was up early doing chores, breakfast and then being on guard duty. Tired but was very happy.
The last horse that needed guarding left 3 days after the 4th. It would be just over 2 weeks before more would arrive for the faire. So we went back to our non guard operating schedule. I had also now finishing reading Men to Match my Mountains, by Irving Stone, two Time-Life books on WWII(one on North Africa and one on Italy) and was now working on The Winds of War, Michener’s the Source, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, and a book called something like Zero—written by a Japanese who gave an interesting perspective and explained their war strategy. I think I worn out a Dictionary. It may not sound like much to you but I was not even 10 yet and these books were more of a challenge than throwing the hatchet. They were exciting books that read more like action novels. By the time I went back to school and the standardized testing my English and vocabulary skills had skyrocketed to grade level 12.

Paris is a Energy Hog. So what else is new. MW’s is changing things to give fighters an edge somehow over energy players. No one is sure how yet, but they say there are working on it.

Trading
I still handle lottos and convert them to weapons. I’m finally handling Diamonds. Won’t touch the African. The others I’ll trade for 80 moscow, Lloyds, or 20 trios or red angels.

Weapons to acquire first:
Strongest defending vehicles:
Red Angels, then Lloyds
Blades are still the strongest defense weapon.
Tantos and Ubjicas are your attacking weapons.
Viks and Coats for armor. I recommend if you have a choice get the Viks, Coats don’t take as much energy to loot and are easier to trade for pirates or lotto.
Attacking vehicles, Zolotos, or the new Trios.

A strategy for using Bangkok to your advantage.
If you’re like me and lost your faction weapons, or you never got the glitch, I believe the best way to do Bangkok is as follows. 1) Use stamina to get to the maximum trust levels for both sides. You also have a good opportunity to pick up both car parts, weapons, and Baht. Use energy to just do the same job over and over. Possibly one that drops satellite phones and work yourself slowly up to where you do the job that gets Lloyds to drop. Bank your Baht and try to add one or two pieces of armor a week. Don’t waste your baht on trying to rush through Bangkok. Most jobs require you to spend precious Baht that you need for Armor. You have to think of it more like looting Baht so you can acquire Armor. Focus on making cars. If you have two accounts take a moment to send just one gift from Bangkok to your other account. Make sure it says RARE before you send it. Have Trios, Red Angels, and either Bullet Proof Glass or Solar Panels on your wish list. For your fighter build Rebel 2 or Solar Flares so you get more stamina or energy. For your energy/farm account build Red Angels or Trios and then send those to your fighting account. Give yourself a couple months and you can easily acquire 70 to 100 of these cars which are far stronger and fully tradeable, unlike the strongest faction vehicles. I believe this will give you the maximum ability to increase your weapons strength until Las Vegas opens.
Using Stamina for Robbing vs Fighting
Robbing lets you use your stamina up quickly. Fighting drops weapons and car parts. If I have the time I prefer fighting.

You may notice that the robbing formula is not 100% static like the fighting formula. However, your attack skill and any boosts are static, as is a portion of your mafia strength (NOTE: the Diamond Collection alters these percentages). So, having better weapons, armors, and vehicles, as well as bringing the required number of mafia DOES improve your odds of a successful robbery.

When robbing, you can also get random loot drops for the collections. Try to complete both collections – “Tools of the Trade”, and “Stolen Diamond Collection” – and increase your robbing mastery. Keep in mind that the items in the Stolen Diamond Collection can only drop on full grid clears. And, doing better on the grid will give you a better chance at a diamond drop. This is still a SUPER RARE set, so be patient as you work to get all the items!

Be sure to collect from your properties in a timely manner. As soon as they’re ready, collect and prevent them from becoming vulnerable to robbing. You can check out from your properties page if any of your properties were hit, and you can choose to retaliate by going to a users profile page and rob them there directly.

Building 2 cars a day:
1. Build a car before you collect parts when you’re able.
2. Collect your parts.
3. Build another car. (You have to have enough parts available to build both cars.)
